Kaitlyn is going to be a year old in 13 days! Where has the time gone? She has 2 teeth on the bottom and 4 coming in on the top. She is eating everything we eat, but we still have to grind it up...well some things, like meat...she will keep a piece of meat in her mouth all night and never swallow it. I hope she doesn't take after my cousin Sarah!! She's not saying sentences, but she says things like mama, dada, bye bye, uh oh, hello, and various other random things. She babbles quite a bit. She likes to hold her cell phone up to her ear and "talk" to people. She's quite the little entertainer...actually, she entertains herself quite nicely. If she ever gets into her room she will go right over to the dresser, open the drawers, and start throwing all the clothes on the floor. It's a clothing thing, because when she helps me fold the laundry she does the same thing. She could be strangely content playing with pajamas, a onesie, or some socks. Her new thing is to strip down to her diaper during nap time. Obviously, I will be safeguarding against messes that no one likes to clean up by making sure she is wearing a onesie during nap time. I'm sure she'll figure out how to take it off at some point, but it might buy be a few months!

9 Months Old
I can't believe our little Kaitlyn is already 9 months old! She finally cut her first tooth on January 9th...the baby sitter was very pleased with that. She is cruising around crawling and she's finally sitting up (she crawled before she sat up on her own). Her new thing is to pull herself up on the furniture and the baby gates. We went to the doctor today and found out that she's 15 and a half pounds and 28 and a quarter inches long. She's in the 75th percentile for height and 5th percentile for weight...long and lean. She is starting to eat table food, but she won't put it in her mouth on her own...she is more interested in playing with it on the tray. I'm sure she will leave Florida with some stellar eating skills...

Kaitlyn at the Mall of America
Kaitlyn is crawling now. She started off inching her way forward using her arms to pull herself along. She is now on her hands and knees moving along pretty good. Although, when she wants to get somewhere fast she reverts back to the old standby inchworm move.
She is also starting to stand up and pull herself up on things. We found her standing in her crib a few days ago and every day since then when she wakes up from sleeping. She is a joy to have around. She is almost always in a good mood and smiling. She makes us laugh quite often. I wouldn't be surprised if she's walking by the time we vist Nanna and Pappa in Florida next month.

Clapping Baby
Kaitlyn had her doctor's appointment yesterday where she got 4 shots. She weighed in at 13 lbs 6 oz, which puts her in the 10-25% percentile. She is a little peanut, but she is doing great and is healthy. She's eating like a champ...fruit, veggies, chicken soup, beef stew...you name it, she eats it. The doctor asked "Is she always this happy?" Kaitlyn is a very happy baby. She rolls around to get where she wants to go...either that or she backs herself up. She says MaMa and waves goodbye...and now claps...and she's so proud of herself when she claps. The doctor said she is very advanced for her age. Kaitlyn keeps us busy and entertained.
